Eight Random Things

Towanda tagged me for this "Eight Random Things About Me" meme the other day while I was out of town. Since this meme has been all over the blogring, I'm not going to bother sharing the rules, especially since I'm going to disregard them anyway! I'll try to share different things than the "Six Weird Things About Me" meme from several weeks ago!

Let's see....

1. My older sister's and my middle name are each one half of our mother's name.

2. I hate, I hate, I hate it when someone squeaks a balloon. It hurts me physically..... really.

3. My second toe is longer than my big toe and I don't mind! My mother's toes are the same way and she once told me when I was a little girl that it signified that she was the boss! I like that interpretation!

4. My daughter went without a name for her first two days of life because she didn't look like the name we had originally chosen. The name we came up with suits her quite well!

5. I don't understand underwire bras. I mean, I know they are supposed to be more supportive, but I have been professionally fitted and still can't find one that is at all comfortable.

6. I'm discovering that it sucks to still be on vacation, but not be out of town. Well, at least when you have kids and school's out for summer!

7. I just fed my kids cereal for dinner.

8. I wish I had a gin and tonic right now.

That's funny about the balloon speak. I can't stand the sound of someone brushing their teeth. I just saw this fantastic film called "Stranger Than Fiction" with Will Ferrell, and I swear he spends half the freaking movie brushing his teeth. I LOVED that movie, but those scenes drove me up the wall.

I also love the little name trick your parents played with you and your sisters middle names.

Gin and TOnics rock. Esp Sapphire Gin.

love

I eat cereal for dinner two or three nights a week. Is there something wrong with that? ;)

Iris, I hear ya about the underwire (though I appreciate their support). This is the best thing in the world. I am a woman whose cups runneth over, but it does the trick surprisingly well, and doesn't turn you into the Uniboober.

Iris, Sure you are in my club! Anyone with towanda's seal of approval is the kind of woman I like. I love your comments about the kids, the cereal, the gin and tonic. Any ideas what to do with a 12 year old drama "king"?

My younger sister's and my middle name split my mother's first name too! I have always thought this was such a wonderful way for her to pass on her name to her daughters.

How cool to hear your mother has done the same!

this is great! Nobody confesses to the cereal thing, but people do it...(we sometimes had pancakes for supper when my dad wasn't home).

Yup, I agree with the underwire bra. Just bought 2 new ones for the ample bosom and it has 5, count 'em, 5 hooks. One morning I got hand cramps trying the hook it up correctly. Now the girls are lifted high, so I guess its worth the effort and discomfort.
Mmmmm....gin and tonics are my favorite adult beverage, lot less calories than the delicious Wally-be-darned at the Australian restaurant.

Funny you should mention the seoond toe length. My father always said it was a family trait from his side of the family of course :) and that indicated great intelligence!

A G&T would definitely hit the spot!
