Superfluous

I'm feeling whiny. Please bear with me....

I don't know if I'm being overly sensitive, but it seems as if my involvement in worship leadership is getting less and less as the weeks go by. Today I led a prayer and did the Invitation to the Table. I watched as the interim led the rest of the communion liturgy, including breaking the bread and pouring the cup. I used to preach at least once a month, but now I preach every 8 weeks.

I feel superfluous. There's going to be a new pastor soon and s/he isn't going to inherit me. It's time to go.

I'm sorry. For what it's worth, I think it's her insecurity, but that doesn't make it any better for you. Give me a call if you want to talk.

That is really crummy. Count me into the group who would be happy to talk with you... I don't "get" why other women pastors can be so lacking in collegiality! Give a sister a break!

I'm sorry, too. What they said.

Thank you all so much for your support. To be fair, I think that the interim is trying to keep my hours down since I am part-time. Hence, the fewer preaching opportunities. That doesn't explain the worship leadership, however. My PIF (PCUSA resume on crack- I love it!) is ready to go!

I really dislike it when we (clergy) do this to each other.
