Some Sad, Sad News

My heart is breaking for my cousin's 5 year old son right now. His mother, who was only 28 years old, was killed in a car accident early this morning. She and my cousin had not been together for about a year, but they were very good about sharing custody and giving their son a sense of security. In fact, I'm told that the three of them just had dinner together last night.

She even continued to come to all of our family get-togethers. She was a member of the family.

It's just so awful.

Sorry I haven't been around for awhile. I've been down for the count for past week or so. I came down with shingles...ugh.

However, I was recovered enough to go see Elton John and Billy Joel last night. Incredible concert. I haven't had so much fun in a long time. And my husband and I hadn't done anything together for a long time. I wish I could have basked in that feeling longer.

On another and likely wholly inappropriate note, I've wanted to see the Elton John-Billy Joel concert for years now. Glad that you were able to enjoy it, if only for a little while.

oh Iris, I am so sorry...keeping you in my prayers and if I knew any spells against shingles, I'd utter 'em.

Too much stress in your life right now! Your body is screaming it... and it's the shingles.

Prayers for you and your family.

I'm sorry for the multiple losses that surround you and pray for strength for you as you minister to and care for all. Interestingly, I just had an email from my sister in law - she saw the Elton John - Billy Joel concert last night. She said it was really good - and she sees lots of concerts in her work with a lighting company. Looking forward to meeting you at BE 2.0.
