Pre-School Theological Musings

A little while ago my daughter says to me, apropos of nothing;

"I don't like Jesus. Bubboo(translation: "Brother") likes Jesus. I like Mary."

3 years old and already desiring the sacred feminine!

hooray for little feminists!

my proud moment came during the bush/kerry election nonsense. we were driving somewhere and valerie (then 6) asked why we didn't support bush, merkin (then 9)went through a litany of reasons, and ainsley (then 3) said "i just want a girl for president!"

i knew something was right in the world!

Very cool. Somehow my three-year-old son was asked recently if he loved Jesus. "Um, I *like* Jesus?!" was his reply.

Iris, I meant to comment on this a while back... I love this story. Your daughter sounds just like my mother, born and raised Roman Catholic, always said she just "couldn't relate" to Jesus, but Mary was a different story!

I so appreciate your comments on my blog... and i so appreciate your blog as well. Blessings!
