Question for you...

What do you do when you are too sick to write your sermon?

Just not sure I'm gonna get it together this week. I've been running a 100-102 degree temp since Wednesday morning. Did go to the dr. yesterday and got some antibiotics because she said my throat was definitely not going to get better on its own. So far, I can't feel any effects from the meds. I hate being sick!

Hope your Friday is better!

Check the file?
You've got Isaiah 6:1-8. If you've ever had a powerful experience of God's presence, you could just tell the story. And it may not be the best week to get into the finer points of being born again and/or John 3:16. :-)
Hope you feel better!

Get an old sermon and arrange to have a lay person read it while you stay at home and rest. Model good self care for your congregants.

Yes, if you're sick stay home to take care of yourself and not share germs. Is there a lay leader whom you could ask to give a short reflection or lead a sermonless worship? (Assuming you're solo pastor).

There are also sermons that one can use in these circumstances, if you "like" what the person says at sermons that work. All you have to do is cite the source (sermons that work) and cite the author.

hope that you are feeling better and are on the road to recovery. i think the advice to make arrangements for a lay person to do or manage the service is wise. take care of yourselfa nd don't spread the yuckiness around. ;)

love and peace to you!
